Job description

Manage and motivate the shift team ensuring that productivity and service KPI’s are achieved or exceeded.

Health & Safety and Compliance

Ensure the highest possible levels of Health, Safety, and Hygiene are upheld to comply with legislative and quality requirements. Complete and retain relevant paperwork. Conduct all Quality and compliance checks, ensuring the Operational team meets audit standards.

Communication and Team Development

Deliver briefings to ensure all shifts are informed of company and local issues. Encourage employee input and involvement. Develop team members to maximize their contributions and support succession planning.

Operational Responsibilities

• Manage Goods Inwards to ensure quick receipt and minimal damage, maintaining stock availability.
• Carry out disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with company policies.
• Monitor and manage sickness absence, conduct return-to-work interviews.
• Oversee time and attendance systems.
• Manage overtime and agency worker levels for shift efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate team training, including Health & Safety representation such as First Aiders and Fire Marshalls.

Qualifications

• Proficient in computer use, particularly Excel.
• Confident in dealing with people at all levels.
• Adaptable, methodical, and reliable in work, training, and hours.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
