Job summary

Ancient + Brave, based in Barcombe, East Sussex, is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to drive daily operations in our busy Lewes warehouse. You will coordinate deliveries, orders, and stock movements, keeping the team on track, safe and efficient.

You will lead a small team, ensure accuracy, manage priorities, and collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to maintain high standards and timely fulfilment in a fast-paced, values-led company.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, this is an exciting new role for a Warehouse Team Leader to support the general operations of the warehouse. The Warehouse Team Leader runs the day-to-day floor operation, keeping the team on the right jobs, in the right order, to the right standard. Warehouse work isn't linear, so the role is as much about staying organised through interruptions as it is about the physical tasks. The Team Leader keeps deliveries, orders, deadlines and people moving together. This role will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.

What You’ll Be Doing

Running the Day

Plan and oversee the day's workload, adjusting priorities as new orders, deliveries or issues come in.
Ensure the team is working accurately and efficiently across all order types, including fulfilment picking lists, B2B orders and pallet orders.
Keep track of multiple jobs running at once and re-sequence work as priorities shift, since the day rarely runs in a straight line.

Goods In / Goods Out

Take in deliveries, checking they are correct and logged properly.
Organise and load collections, ensuring outbound orders are accurate and dispatched on time.

Site Standards

Keep the warehouse tidy and well organised throughout the day.
Manage cardboard and general waste, ensuring bins are kept on top of.
Ensure the blending room is stocked with everything it needs to operate without delay.

Systems & Stock Accuracy

Use the company's software and handheld devices to log picks, transfers and stock movements accurately.
Ensure stock transfers are recorded correctly and discrepancies are flagged and resolved.

People Management

Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team on a day-to-day basis.
Allocate tasks fairly, keeping the team's workload balanced across the different order streams.
Deal calmly and clearly with people issues as they arise, keeping communication open across the team.

WHO YOU ARE

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills / knowledge / experience:

Essential Skills

Strong attention to detail, particularly when picking and checking orders.
Ability to multitask and manage several jobs at once, understanding that warehouse work is rarely linear and adapting accordingly.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to re-prioritise on the fly.
Strong people skills — comfortable managing, motivating and communicating with a team.

Desirable Skills

A good memory, for recalling stock locations, order details and daily priorities.
Forklift licence — useful but not mandatory.
Experience of working in a warehouse environment.
