Job summary

Polypipe Building Services is recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to manage a multifunctional night shift, ensuring accurate picking and packing of customer orders and delivering high levels of customer service.

The role involves leading a shift, coordinating handovers, and driving continuous improvement across the warehouse while maintaining health and safety standards and compliance with OTIF targets.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and focus a team to realise objectives.
• Ability to monitor performance of individuals and processes and take action.
• Analyse processes and implement improvements including new systems and operatives training.
• Computer literate with Excel and Word.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Experience in using MHE equipment.
• Knowledge of WH module within IFS.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of the Warehouse shift team in processing customer orders using the Voice Recognition System.
• Carry out daily shift handovers with Operational Leaders and Co-Ordinators.
• Communicate operational requirements via Shift Start Up meetings.
• Support OTIF achievement and continuous improvement.
• Assist Inventory team with locating and supplying material and products.
• Coordinate with Co-Ordinators on daily requirements.
• Monitor performance and address issues with a focus on improvement.
• Provide development and training plans via the PDR process and conduct reviews.
• Motivate staff to maximise potential and meet goals.
• Ensure incidents are reported and investigated using approved processes.

Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors as well as local authorities. Role

This role is to manage a multifunctional Warehouse team in the planning, picking, packing of customer orders in timely and accurate manner and ensure a high level of customer service is achieved.

This role is working permanent nights, so applicants must be able to commit to this shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

• To efficiently manage the day to day running of the Warehouse shift team members in the processing of all customer orders using the Voice Recognition System.
• Ensure that a shift hand over is carried out on a daily basis with other Operational Leaders and Co-Ordinators.
• Effectively communicate on a daily basis operational requirements to all team members through Shift Start Up meetings.
• Support the achievement and continuous improvement of OTIF
• Support the Inventory team on the processing, locating and supply of material and products.
• To liaise with the business section Co-Ordinators on daily requirements.
• Monitor team performance and act upon all issues and document in a timely manner and in line with continuous improvement.
• To provide a development and training plan for all members of the team through the PDR process, ensuring regular reviews are conducted.
• Motivate and develop personnel in order to maximise their potential and ensure that departmental and company goals are understood and met.
• Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported, recorded and Investigated using the appropriate processes, documents and Alcumus.
• Complete all issued Level Two Audits by the set completion dates.
• Health & Safety – Ensure we keep our employees and visitors safe by providing suitable trained out SSW’s and procedures.

Skills & Requirements
