Job summary

Optime Group is recruiting Warehouse Operatives for Avanti Trains at Manchester Piccadilly. You will ensure catering and goods arrive on time, aligned with train schedules. Immediate start with weekly pay, 37.5 hours per week, shifts 05:30–13:00, days and nights, weekdays and weekends.

£15.09 per hour, temp to perm based on performance. Requires warehouse experience, strong ICT skills, and reliable documentation such as passport/NI.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a supervisor role.
• Warehouse experience essential.
• Willing to work any 5 days of 7 including weekends.
• Familiar with warehouse management processes.
• Proficient with computers and Excel.
• Fluent English.
• Basic numeracy and checking skills.
• Must have valid passport/ID and National Insurance.
• UK Settled Status where applicable and provide proof of address.

Responsibilities

• Manage sickness and absence for the area in line with DHL processes.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the shift.
• Monitor KPI and productivity rates for activities.
• Challenge the status quo to improve operations.
• Lead and motivate others with a customer-first approach.
• Ensure colleagues are trained to required standards with documentation.
• Maintain hygiene levels as required by the OC.
• Identify potential future talent within the team.
• Communicate shift briefs and conduct 121 reviews.
• Contribute to area improvements to generate savings.

Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting Warehouse Operatives in partnership with Avanti Trains at Manchester Piccadilly Train Station.

As a Warehouse Operative you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive with our train clients on time, in-line with various scheduling requirements.

What’s on offer:

• Rate of Pay: £15.09 hour
• Location: Manchester Piccadilly Train Station
• Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
• Shift Times: 05:30 am to 13:00, but will vary depending on the operations demand.
• Hours: Candidates must be able to work days & nights. Weekdays & Weekends.

KEY DUTIES:

• Manage the sickness and absence of their area in line with DHL processes.
• Accountable for the day to day running of the shift.
• Manage performance using KPI and productivity rates for activity's.
• Use a forward thinking and inactive approach to operations by challenging the status quo.
• Lead and manage others in a customer first approach acting as a role model in demonstrating these principles.
• All colleagues are trained to the required standard to carry out the tasks that they are fulfilling, with supporting documentation.
• Ensuring Hygiene levels are maintained at the required levels as set by the OC.
• Identify and develop the potential of all team members advising of future talent.
• Effectively communicate with colleagues on shift through start and end of shift briefs supported with 121 level meetings, ensure all standards are maintained and adhered too.
• Engage in area improvements to generate savings.
• Ensure all colleagues are fully engaged and communicate

• Experience of managing a team in a supervisor role
• Needs to have Wearhouse experience
• Able to be flexible to working any 5 days of 7 where operationally required
• Good understating of how warehouse managements work
• Good understanding of computers, excel and any other applications
• Fluent English
• Ability to demonstrate our core values.
