Overview

Our client, one of the UK's leading second handbook resellers, is recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team. This role is suitable for someone who has experience as a Warehouse Supervisor and is looking to continue their career, or someone who has worked in a warehouse environment with some leadership experience and is looking to step up. The company is experiencing excellent growth, so the role offers excellent progression opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and possess strong leadership qualities. This role requires a proactive approach to process improvement and logistics, ensuring efficient materials handling and effective team management. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment while optimising productivity.

The role is mainly Monday - Friday, day shifts, but due to the nature of the role there may be some flexibility required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, providing training and support to enhance performance.
• Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods.
• Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements efficiently.
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure that all materials handling procedures are followed, including heavy lifting protocols where applicable.

Ideal Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.
• Good understanding of materials handling, logistics, and shipping & receiving processes.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400 software is advantageous.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
• Experience in a 3PL environment is a plus.
