The Warehouse Site Manager will play a critical role in leading all activity across a key DC operation, operating within a Multi-User, Open Book site.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Site Manager to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting Line: Reporting to the UK Operations Director.
- Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all operational activities, including warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement, and projects.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing site operational team (up to 75+ employees) through managerial direct reports.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
- Commercial Responsibility & Budget Management: Develop and manage the operational site budget, achieving financial objectives while maintaining service and quality.
- Performance Metrics: Evolve the organizational approach to KPIs, ensuring existing and new site standardization.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Innovation: Support business initiatives to drive innovation, automation, robotics, and the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Supplier Relationships: Manage UK commercial relationships with customers, suppliers, and third-party service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
The Successful Candidate - Key Experience
- Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain background (ideally as a Warehouse Site Manager) - Essential.
- Proven warehouse leadership experience within 3PL, production, manufacturing, automotive, FMCG, or construction industries, with a minimum of 5+ years of progressive responsibility - Essential.
- At least 5 years' experience operating at a General Manager, Senior General Manager, Head of, or Operations Director level - Essential.
- Previous budgetary responsibility for medium-sized DC operations exceeding £5m - Essential.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market.
