Job summary

Great Bear is seeking a Warehouse Shift Supervisor for our Minworth site. You will support the Shift Managers in running daily warehouse operations, ensuring targets and safety standards are met and housekeeping is maintained.

The role operates 4 on/4 off nights from 18:00 to 06:00, offering hands-on leadership and continuous improvement opportunities. Join a site-focused, customer-driven team with exposure to SAP, PKMS and WMS tools; contribute to efficient, safe operations and staff

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative.
• Proven ability to lead a team and motivate staff.
• Knowledge of on-site systems and SAP/PKMS is advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Manager in coordinating warehouse issues.
• Lead scheduling and supervising warehouse staff.
• Ensure timely completion of warehouse activities.
• Communicate plans with Operations Controllers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.
• Maintain records of team performance and report disruptions.
• Organise training and development for warehouse staff.
• Provide regular feedback on performance and development.
• Assist in managing attendance and cover when needed.
• Participate in the management team and suggest improvements.

Job Description

Our friendly team in Minworth have an exciting opportunity for aWarehouse Shift Supervisor to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

As a Shift Supervisor you will support the Shift Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.

Working hours:4 on 4 off Nights18:00 - 06:00

Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor:

• Assist the Shift Manager in co-ordinating any issues within the warehouse.
• Effective accident/incident investigations knowledge
• Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff.
• Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
• Communicate plans with the Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
• Keep and maintain records of team performance against plans and to advise the Shift Manager of factors that may disrupt operations which cannot be resolved by the team.
• Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, and to evaluate training effectiveness in terms of improved individual and team performance and the maximum flexibility of team members.
• To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
• Assist the Shift Manager in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and take appropriateaction to ensure cover, as necessary, and manage reductions of unacceptable levels.
• Participate as an active member of the management team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus and team working.

Qualifications

• Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• PC Literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated.
• Excellent time management skills and problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, conciliation skills and the capacity to network with suppliers and customers.
• Working knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner would be useful but not essential.
• Knowledge of the WMS Autostore would be useful but not essential
