Job summary

Great Bear is seeking a Warehouse Shift Supervisor in Minworth to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. The role supports the Shift Manager in day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring service and cost targets are met, health and safety standards are adhered to, and housekeeping is maintained.

Working hours are 4 on, 4 off nights from 18:00 to 06:00, with duties including coordinating warehouse activities, supervising staff, and driving improvements to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Team player capable of working on their own initiative.
• In-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to lead a team, delegate, supervise and motivate staff.
• Excellent time management and problem solving.
• Strong interpersonal and conciliatory skills for networking with suppliers and customers.
• Experience with SAP, PKMS, Road Runner is useful.
• Knowledge of WMS Autostore is useful.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Manager in coordinating warehouse issues.
• Conduct effective accident/incident investigations.
• Schedule and supervise warehouse staff activities.
• Ensure timely completion of all warehouse tasks.
• Communicate plans with Operations Controllers for 100% customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policy and procedures.
• Maintain records of team performance and flag disruptions.
• Assist in training and development for warehouse staff and on-the-job coaching.
• Provide regular feedback on performance, including behavioral issues.
• Support absence management and ensure adequate cover.
• Contribute to management team with ideas to improve efficiency and customer/quality focus.

Job Description

Our friendly team in Minworth have an exciting opportunity for aWarehouse Shift Supervisor to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

As a Shift Supervisor you will support the Shift Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.

Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor:

• Assist the Shift Manager in co-ordinating any issues within the warehouse.
• Effective accident/incident investigations knowledge
• Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff.
• Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
• Communicate plans with the Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
• Keep and maintain records of team performance against plans and to advise the Shift Manager of factors that may disrupt operations which cannot be resolved by the team.
• Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, and to evaluate training effectiveness in terms of improved individual and team performance and the maximum flexibility of team members.
• To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
• Assist the Shift Manager in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and take appropriateaction to ensure cover, as necessary, and manage reductions of unacceptable levels.
• Participate as an active member of the management team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus and team working.

Qualifications

• Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• PC Literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated.
• Excellent time management skills and problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, conciliation skills and the capacity to network with suppliers and customers.
• Working knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner would be useful but not essential.
• Knowledge of the WMS Autostore would be useful but not essential
