How will you contribute?
- Reporting to the Assistant General Manager.
- Responsible for leading, motivating, and guiding the team of Warehouse First Line Managers, Team Leaders, and Colleagues.
- Assigning tasks to ensure optimal productivity. Planning and managing operation resources to optimize the utilization of labor and equipment.
- Responsible for optimizing work tasks and reporting figures daily, identifying stock or picking/loading errors, and highlighting these to the relevant teams.
- Engage with your team and drive a positive culture where colleagues are encouraged and motivated to contribute to team performance.
- Drive clear communication between colleagues and management, as well as with support functions. Ensure regular briefings and attendance at meetings.
- Responsible for the Health & Safety of the team and ensuring tasks are carried out in line with relevant procedures.
- Promote the company and customer site culture and values, as well as driving and promoting the right behaviors within your team.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support for training and development to ensure the team has the right skills.
- Proactively seek continuous improvements in processes and methods of operating, and introduce best practices within the site.
What will you bring?
- Experience as a Shift Manager or similar role in a warehouse environment.
- A proven track record in managing people in a multicultural environment.
- The ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, customers, and managers.
- The ability to build rapport with employees and customers and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Excellent team building, organizational, leadership, and motivational skills.
- Ability to communicate openly and honestly with your team.
- Approachable, fair, diplomatic, and assertive in dealing with situations.
- Ability to work and build relationships within a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of budgets and cost control is an advantage.
- A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and leading change.
- Commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility to work various shift patterns responding to seasonal customer demand.
