Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of warehouse employees to achieve daily shift goals.
- Oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring orders are processed efficiently and materials are delivered in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and best practices, conducting regular inspections to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, addressing discrepancies and ensuring accuracies through physical counts and reconciliation with automated systems.
- Manage manpower resources effectively to support customer delivery and optimize operational efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and enhance warehouse processes.
- Manage costs and performance of the shift, monitor KPIs, identify actions, and highlight areas for improvement.
- Provide a shift summary and handover record with any exceptions detailed and actioned.
- Effectively manage performance, conduct, absence, engagement and training and development of team members, upholding agreed departmental and company standards.
- Ensure high standards of security in the warehouse by setting security procedures.
- Ensure vehicles, machinery, and equipment are well maintained and fit for purpose.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment at a similar level.
- A full understanding of the requirements of running a warehouse, including health and safety and security.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
