About the role
As part of the Distribution Centre Lead Management team, you will provide excellent service to our stores, ensuring great product availability and standards by leading a team of Managers and colleagues on a dedicated shift who prioritize doing what’s right for our customers and Tesco.
You will be responsible for:
- Analyzing and identifying trends in Big 6/KPIs in the Distribution Centre, and developing improvement plans to enhance capability where needed.
- Maximizing the use of the My Performance process and tools to improve individual performance, productivity, and standards.
- Using your expertise to identify opportunities for warehouse performance improvements, engaging and supporting your team to implement these.
- Coordinating warehouse plans, KPIs, and resources to ensure delivery and sustainable improvements while meeting financial targets.
- Championing change, sharing ideas, and experiences to achieve results.
- Building the capability of Managers through operational and leadership training, ongoing coaching, and mentoring.
- Leading the team to deliver end-to-end Distribution Centre routines and standards aligned with the Operating model.
- Planning for seasonal, trade-driving, and promotional events to maximize sales and ensure timely stock dispatch and receipt.
- Collaborating with support office and store leads to ensure best-in-class Warehouse Operating procedures that meet store needs.
- Focusing on accurate goods delivery to stores, enhancing product availability and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring safety, hygiene standards, maintaining the cold chain, and food hygiene compliance.
- Leading initiatives like Direct to Depot changes, organizing Managers to deliver and sustain change programs for optimal product availability.
- Implementing preventive shrink and security plans for your shift.
- Operating collaboratively across shifts to deliver the best service for stores.
- Being the accountable Duty Manager on your shift, making customer and colleague-centric decisions.
- Leading community engagement initiatives within the warehouse team.
- Managing resource planning to ensure optimal staffing levels for effective service.
- Developing Managers' knowledge of Warehouse Service Shift Manager roles and supporting root cause analysis for continuous improvement.
