Job summary

Home Bargains is seeking a proactive Warehouse Team Leader to oversee operations in a fast-paced distribution centre. You will spend majority of time on the DC floor guiding the team, ensuring safety, coaching staff, and driving performance against KPIs.

In this role you will recruit and train new staff, monitor health and safety training, and conduct regular performance reviews to foster continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational efficiency across Goods In, Automation, Manual operations and Stock Control.
• Lead on the DC floor for 80% of the time, providing support and guidance.
• Ensure shift KPIs are met and maintenance of high cleaning standards.
• Identify and resolve problems impacting team performance and KPIs.
• Coordinate resources with the Shift Manager and other Section Managers.
• Recruit, onboard and induct new team members with 100% H&S training.
• Conduct monthly performance reviews and provide coaching.
• Maintain up-to-date health and safety standards and training; perform safety checks.

Job description

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Operational Efficiency: Ensure all elements of the warehouse operation run effectively and efficiently across various functions including Goods In, Automation, Manual operations, and Stock Control.

• Hands-On Leadership: Spend 80% of time on the DC floor leading the team, providing support and guidance as required.

• Performance Management: Drive the team to consistently deliver shift KPIs and maintain high cleaning standards.

• Problem Solving: Identify and proactively resolve problems impacting team performance and KPIs.

• Resource Coordination: Work collaboratively with the Shift Manager and other Section Managers to align resources and mitigate operational issues.

• Team Recruitment & Training: Recruit, onboard, and induct new team members, ensuring their induction and H&S training are 100% complete.

• Performance Reviews: Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings to review team members' performance and development needs, providing real-time feedback and coaching.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health and safety standards and training are up to date, conducting regular safety checks and maintaining 100% compliance.

  Extensive experience in fast-paced warehouse environments, managing large teams and achieving operational targets.

• Proven track record in change management and driving business improvements.

Job Details

• £40,387.40 basic salary

• 12 month fixed-term contract

• Average 40 hours per week working Any 5 days out of 7

• Shifts Available

• Fixed Lates - 1:45pm - 10:15pm

• 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service
