Job summary

A leading engineering distributor in Barnsley is seeking a Warehouse Operative to manage stock movement, pick and pack goods, and operate production machinery. Candidates must have experience in a similar role and a valid UK driving license. This position offers a dynamic team environment with tasks including documentation generation and customer deliveries. Hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to work in a busy team environment with minimal supervision.
• UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Move stock to and from storage locations.
• Pick, pack, and despatch goods.
• Prepare raw materials for production.
• Use production machinery and press cutting equipment.
• Communicate with the sales team as needed.
• Support quality, sales, and manufacturing.
• Generate documentation and reports.
• Deliver goods to customers.

Overview

Applicants must have experience of working in a Warehouse or Manufacturing environment.

The Ashton Group was established in 1866 and are distributors of Seals, Gaskets, Fasteners and other engineering products.

Responsibilities

• Accurately move stock to and from storage locations
• Picking, packing and despatching of goods
• Undertake general warehouse duties as required whilst ensuring that quality standards are adhered to
• Locate raw material and prepare for production
• Using production machinery and press cutting equipment to manufacture high quality gasket components
• Where necessary, have communication with the sales team to ensure product specifications are understood
• Support quality, sales and manufacturing as needed
• Generate appropriate documentation, records and reports
• Delivering goods to our customers

Qualifications / Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, possessing the ability to work within a busy team environment under minimum supervision
• Applicants are required to have a UK driving licence for this position
• A Forklift Licence though not essential would be advantageous

Hours of business: 8.30 - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
