Job description

Job Title: Picker

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Depot: LWC Manchester

Main Duties

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the purpose of the picker packer will be to complete tasks which assist the day to day running of the delivery operations for the following day, ensuring all customer's orders are picked correctly, stacked correctly and wrapped in a professional manner, picking from 1500 different products, ranging from kegs to packaged beers to wines and spirits. Manual handling is one of the main activities of this role.

Key Skills

  1. Adhering to good practice within the warehouse;
  2. Responsible for correctly picking orders and placing them in the correct areas for deliveries;
  3. Reporting stock issues to the supervisory or stock control team;
  4. Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times;
  5. Wear the correct equipment for your job when on site, for example, safety boots, gloves, and the correct high visibility vest;
  6. Assist with ensuring that housekeeping standards are maintained at all times;
  7. Ensure that all new stock delivered must be put away ASAP; all stock must be put away in the correct bin-bay location and match the delivery note received;
  8. Assist with stock audits on a weekly basis;
  9. Assist in the monthly stock takes at weekends if and when required;
  10. Flexible approach to working;
  11. Assisting drivers as mates (2nd man) as and when required.

Knowledge And Experience
  1. Being able to prioritise workloads;
  2. Good teamwork skills;
  3. Good communication skills;
  4. Good product knowledge;
  5. Flexi FLT licence is an advantage.

Shift Pattern and Compensation

This role follows a Sunday to Thursday shift pattern, with working hours from 9:00am to 6:00pm, totalling 45 hours per week. The position is paid at a rate of £12.21 per hour, with wages processed on a fortnightly basis. In addition to the hourly wage, the role includes a discretionary bonus structure comprising four quarterly bonuses of £250 each, as well as one annual bonus of £1,000.
