Job summary

Rexel UK in Glasgow Hub is seeking a Warehouse Person to join a high-volume warehouse and cable distribution environment. You will receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch orders, operate equipment, and maintain safety standards.

The role requires an in-date Counterbalance or Reach FLT licence, proven warehouse experience, and strong communication with colleagues and management. This on-site position offers a structured shift pattern and career development.

Job Description

As a Warehouse Person, you will work in a high-volume warehouse and cable distribution environment, handling stock receipt and storage, picking and packing orders, using mechanical handling equipment to move palletised materials efficiently. Your responsibilities will include ensuring orders are accurate, packaged correctly, and dispatched on time, while maintaining a safe and organised work area. Handling heavy cable drums and operating machinery safely are key aspects of the role, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, check and store incoming deliveries; label and put-away to correct locations to maintain stock order and traceability.
• Accurate Picking and Packing of customer orders for Next Day and Same Day deliveries
• Operate cable cutting machines to measure and cut cable to customer specifications, including coiling, tagging and preparing cut lengths for dispatch.
• Facilitate all inward and outward stock movements for the hub following company procedures and using IT/WMS systems to update inventory.
• Carry out cycle counts and stock-takes, report discrepancies and help maintain stock integrity.
• Use mechanical handling equipment (counterbalance forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.) safely and in line with company procedures to move palletised drums and reels.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards: ensure cables, drums, reels and packaging are stored tidily and safely to prevent damage and trip hazards.
• Follow all Health & Safety policies and safe working procedures at all times, including correct lifting techniques, PPE use, and safe operation of equipment.

What we are looking for....

• LICENCE:Hold a valid in-date Counterbalance or Reach FLT Licence
• EXPERIENCE:Proven Warehouse & FLT experience, with the ability to show good understanding of Stock Management Processes
  • 12 months minimum of Counterbalance experience
• COMMUNICATION:Good approach to interacting with colleagues and management
