Job summary

JDR Recruitment is recruiting for Parcel Sorters in the Carlisle area for night shifts only. The role is a busy warehouse position with an average 8-hour shift from 20:00 to 08:00. Pattern is Sunday to Friday, with potential coverage on 7 days during peak periods.

Own transport is preferred due to rural location; TEMP to PERM opportunity. Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, checking for damage, picking and packing orders, labeling, loading vehicles, and maintaining stock accuracy.

Qualifications

• Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in faster-paced warehouse work.
• Able to follow manual handling and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload deliveries.
• Check goods for damage or discrepancies.
• Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch.
• Label and prepare orders for dispatch and load vehicles.
• Move stock around the warehouse and keep areas tidy.
• Follow health and safety rules at all times.
• Use handheld scanners as required.
• Support stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Report damaged goods or equipment to a supervisor.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily targets.

Job description

Our Client is a busy logistics company operating 24 hours a day in the Carlisle area are looking for Parcel Sorters for NIGHTSHIFTS ONLY. Average shift - 8 hrs. Typically (between 20.00 - 08.00). Work pattern is Sunday to Friday - shifts may cover 7 days per week during Peak Periods. The position involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment where efficiency, accuracy, and teamwork are essential to ensure goods are processed and distributed on time. Lots of Bending, Lifting & Twisting.

Must be Physically Fit

• Job & finish basis, so flexibility is essential as finish times may vary depending on operational requirements
• Current working pattern is Sunday to Friday
• During peak periods, shifts may be available across 7 days per week
• TEMP to PERM opportunity

Due to our rural location and lack of public transport, having your own vehicle is essential for this role.

Responsibilities/Daily Duties:

• Receive and unload deliveries.
• Check goods for damage or missing items.
• Pick and pack customer orders accurately.
• Label and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely.
• Move stock around the warehouse.
• Keep the warehouse clean and tidy.
• Follow health and safety rules at all times.
• Use handheld scanners or basic warehouse equipment when required.
• Help with stock checks and keeping inventory accurate.
• Report damaged goods or equipment to a supervisor.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily targets.
• Carry out manual handling tasks safely.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to help with different warehouse duties.
