VP Supply Corp is one of the nation’s largest distributors of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies. We have over 350 employees with 16 locations across Western New York and Pennsylvania. For over 50 years, we have proudly served residential customers as well as contractors and municipalities across a variety of industries.

Position Overview:

Our Warehouse department is seeking to hire an Outbound Lead with at least 1 year of warehouse lead experience to join our Rochester branch. The Outbound lead is a team leader who oversees operations at the ground level, making sure that the rest of the team is accurately selecting and shipping items for outbound shipments.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect product deliveries for damages and ascertain product is within specification of internal Purchase Order.
  • Oversee data system for storage and tracking of goods and shipments.
  • Communicate with order selectors and staff for smooth shipment.
  • Stage loading and unloading areas with appropriate equipment, materials, and space.
  • Oversee shipping and other warehouse processes and personnel to make sure work meets quality standards and is performed according to established procedures.
  • Provide training of current and new employees in all appropriate procedures and processes required to complete work assignments.
  • Provide daily work assignments to staff and work with managers and other supervisors to coordinate personnel and resources as necessary to complete all work scheduled for department.
  • Assist with the development, revision and enforcement of inventory management and procedures including record keeping, work instructions, and other standard operational and work practices, as necessary.
  • Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move parts to proper locations and load and unload steel trucks, as necessary.
  • Process paperwork and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures.
  • Work closely with shipping clerk, completing tasks as needed.
  • Investigate all discrepancies, resolve & log mistakes, and coach order selectors to improve performance.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of Warehouse Lead experience is required. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Shipping, receiving, order selection, packing and stocking of products is required. Forklift training is a plus.
  • Plumbing & Electrical knowledge is required.
  • Accuracy, Efficiency & Good Communication Skills are a MUST.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Willing and able to operate material handling equipment.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple issues at the same time, without stress.
  • Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This job operates in a high traffic warehouse that is exposed to outdoor weather conditions. This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as well as the ability to lift 50 – 75 pounds. While mainly standard hours are scheduled for this position, flexibility is required to be able to ensure all orders and job duties are completed by end of shift.
