Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Operator

Baxter is seeking a Warehouse Operator to join our manufacturing division at our Thetford plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Receiving and booking raw materials
  2. Locating raw materials in Gate 1 and Gate 2 warehouses as required
  3. Processing and loading Baxter goods and raw materials for dispatch
  4. Supporting daily warehouse operations
  5. Working as part of a cross-functional team and learning various roles in the Warehouse and Packing areas
  6. Working independently when necessary
  7. Assisting with routine blind count audits
  8. Performing regular cleaning tasks on the forklift fleet and work area
  9. Complying with EHS/GMP/GDP policies and external regulations
  10. Providing cover for colleagues
  11. Reporting deviations to Quality Assurance and Process Leading Hands
  12. Placing orders for raw materials and production items when needed
  13. Replenishing stock locations as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience in a warehouse environment
  • Punctual with good attendance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-organized and task-oriented
  • Ability to work in a GMP environment
  • Quality-focused with attention to detail
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude
  • Able to maintain high standards of behaviour and workload management
  • Process-oriented, following set standards and procedures
  • Flexible, adaptable to short-notice tasks, working additional hours, and adjusting work hours as needed
  • Calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desired Experience: Forklift experience is preferred but in-house training is available.

Additional Information:

This role involves shift work between 6am - 6pm, alternating weekly between:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday

Salary during training: £26,666.64. Post-training salary: £27,040.71 plus a weekly shift allowance of £64.78. Benefits include:
