About the role

Join Essity as a Warehouse Operator Apprentice and over 14 months develop skills in all supply chain warehouse functions including unloading, picking, dispatch, and stock control. You will learn how to operate machinery safely, interact with customers, and understand how technology supports warehouse operations.

We have 2 positions available, based in Skelmersdale and Ashton Under Lyne.

You will work Monday to Thursday 8.00 am - 4.00 pm and Friday 8.00 am - 3.00 pm. Occasionally, you may need to switch to shift work, which requires you to be 18 years old by the start date. The shift pattern includes four 12-hour shifts (two days and two nights) followed by four days off, with longer breaks of 18 days several times a year.

What you will do

• Learn about warehouse safety and environmental issues
• Operate warehouse equipment and machinery safely – counterbalance/reach trucks, ride-on pallet trucks
• Complete daily safety checks
• Handle deliveries and perform quality checks on incoming goods
• Store goods and move stock within the warehouse
• Pick and pack orders
• Operate the warehouse management system
• Rework products
• Conduct daily stock counts
• Assist with customer returns
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness

Upon successful completion, you will earn a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career with Essity.

Who You Are

We would love to hear from you if you have a minimum of GCSEs at grades D / 3 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English. You should also demonstrate:
