Job summary

LWC Drinks Ltd. is hiring a Warehouse Operative at our Manchester depot to support the busy Christmas period. The role is physically demanding, involves order picking, stock storage and assisting drivers, with weekend shifts 6am-3pm.

You will work under the Warehouse Supervisor and Depot Manager, maintain bin-bay locations, aid stock takes and audits, and follow health and safety procedures. Flexi FLT licence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks to assist in day-to-day running of the Warehouse and upkeep of the warehouse.
• Organise bin bay locations and ensure correct storage of all products.
• Perform physical/manual handling and pick orders for deliveries.
• Keep stock accurate and inform Supervisors/Managers of shortages.
• Assist with monthly stock takes and weekly stock audits.
• Fill out required out-of-date, damaged stock lists and forklift/pedestrian truck records.
• Follow health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Support drivers as needed as a second man/drivers mate.

Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Depot: LWC Manchester

Main Duties

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse & Distribution Manager and Depot Manager, the purpose of the Warehouse Operative will be to complete tasks which assist in the day-to-day running of the Warehouse, the upkeep of the warehouse, the organisation of bin bay locations and to ensure correct storage of all products. The role is quite physical and manual handling is one of the main activities.

Key Skills

• Adhering to good practice within the warehouse;
• Responsible for correctly picking orders and placing in the correct location for deliveries;
• Always being aware of possible stock shortages and informing the warehouse Supervisors or the managers so that they can be ordered;
• Ensure that all new stock delivered must be put away ASAP; all stock must be put away in the correct bin-bay location and match the delivery note received;
• Assist in the monthly stock takes at weekends;
• Assist with stock audits on a weekly basis;
• Filling out the correct information on the out of date list, damaged stock list (write off sheet), and fork lift and pedestrian truck records;
• Ensure that you follow the correct health and safety procedures;
• Wear the correct equipment for your job when on site, for example, safety boots, gloves, the correct high visibility vest;
• Being able to prioritise workloads;
• Flexible approach to working;
• Assisting drivers as second man/drivers mate as and when required.

Additional Information

Fixed Term Contract to cover the Christmas Period

Saturday-Sunday, 6am-3pm.
