Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to oversee operations at HM Prison Birmingham, helping manage stock, dispatch orders, and support prisoner rehabilitation within a secure environment.

You will lead a diverse team, enforce rules with clear boundaries, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency in daily warehouse activities. Training will cover warehouse processes and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Three years UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
• Right to work in the UK with no sponsorship available.

• Advocating Health & Safety across the warehouse, ensuring safe working practices and consistent adherence to SOPs.
• Empowering and working alongside a team of prisoners to maintain accurate stock control and deliver timely, high quality order dispatch.

Pay Rate: £27,496.46 per year

Grade: O

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time), 40 hour week

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (includes working UK bank holidays). Monday to Thursday working hours are 08:00-17:00 (8am-5pm) and Friday's are 08:00-14:30 (8am-2:30pm)

Location: HM Prison Birmingham, B18 4AS

PLEASE NOTE: The role is based within a category B men's prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are to be successful for this position.

We're now looking for a Warehouse Team Leader who will play an integral role in the prisoners' lives, working with a diverse team to support their rehabilitation. You'll need to be comfortable handling tough situations and speaking up when the rules aren't followed.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE?

• Advocating Health & Safety across the warehouse, ensuring safe working practices and consistent adherence to SOPs.
• Empowering and working alongside a team of prisoners to maintain accurate stock control and deliver timely, high quality order dispatch.
• Driving operational excellence by managing workflows, reconciling stock, and consistently achieving performance targets.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO?

• Are comfortable working in a secure prison environment, alongside inmates.
• Are able to demonstrate their experience with encouraging, coaching and developing a team.
• Can be confident speaking up and guiding prisoners when needed. This includes encouraging them to stay on task, follow rules and keep the space safe and moving.
• Make the safety of everyone on shift a key focus.
• Good at communicating firmly, fairly and clearly.
• Have a good understanding of warehouse processes - but we will teach you the whole job!

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA?

• You must have three recent years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
