About the role

Working within the Distribution Centre, reporting to the Shift Manager and Health & Safety Advisor.

Warehouse Operatives with training responsibilities ensure all training, including working processes, manual handling, and MHE training, is delivered to the required standard, and training records are maintained for all colleagues.

The Warehouse Trainer is responsible for delivering professional training and development while supporting managers and colleagues in their daily duties.

During peak times, you may be required to work within the warehouse and carry out other tasks to support business needs.

The role may involve occasional travel to deliver training to other areas of the business and for personal development, including training and meetings.

Responsibility payment is in addition to the hourly wage (terms apply).

You will be responsible for

  • Supporting the implementation of all relevant Health and Safety policies and changes to policies and safe practices.
  • Regular monitoring and assessment of warehouse colleagues within the workplace.
  • Delivering training and supporting managers and colleagues on all warehouse tasks and processes to the required standard.
  • Updating training files.
  • Supporting Safety Week activities.
  • Supporting weekly audits.
  • Supporting hazard and near-miss card reports and accident investigations.

You will need

  • MHE Training Qualification or working towards one (ITSSAR or equivalent) - Essential.
  • Ability to use Microsoft 365 Office - Essential.
  • Professional presentation skills to groups and individuals - Essential.
  • Working knowledge of MHE and relevant legislation - Essential.
  • A good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation - Essential.
  • A passionate and professional approach to health, safety, and training, displaying credibility and presence within the warehouse.
  • A good technical understanding of all MHE/Warehouse SOPs; counterbalance reach truck, LLOP, PPT, Pump Truck, and battery changing processes, etc.
  • Warehouse operational knowledge and a good understanding of operational requirements during busy periods.
  • A good attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Good communication at all levels and organizational skills.
  • IOSH certification - Desirable.
