Warehouse Operative
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate should be physically capable of manual handling tasks, such as unpacking containers, and computer literate for administrative duties.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break
Overtime and weekend work are available during peak periods.
There is a 3-month probation period; upon passing, employees are enrolled into the company bonus scheme.
Benefits include 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
Experience with ETSF operations is helpful but not essential. A current counterbalance forklift license is desirable but not mandatory.
Applicants should have access to a bike or car due to location.
DBS checks will be conducted on the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Devanning containers, including moving pallets with pallet trucks, PPT, counterbalance, and reach trucks (licenses permitting)
- Booking stock onto the WMS system with barcodes during devanning
- Building and wrapping pallets to customer specifications
- Labeling and storing pallets correctly, recording their locations
- Completing put-away notes and performing banksman duties if applicable
- Cost control within the department
- Executing end-to-end warehousing activities as required
- Following SOPs and KPIs to ensure compliance
- Using Cargowise/WMS/SMS/MS Office and scanners as instructed
- Assisting supervisors and managers with tasks
- Completing reports and warehouse administration accurately and on time
- Adopting Best Practice models and operating within Quality Management and Food Safety systems
- Maintaining H&S, customs, and BRC compliance
- Safe vehicle loading/unloading, inventory counting, and discrepancy reporting
- Marking/incoming stock labeling, storing stock safely, and ensuring accurate picking
- Completing paperwork and loading/wrapping stock on pallets
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work environment, including rubbish removal and cleaning
- Performing safety checks on vehicles and recording results
- Training new staff and reporting damages
- Conducting racking/site checks per H&S standards
- Photographing inbound/outbound inventory and uploading documentation
- Wearing PPE at all times and performing other tasks as directed
Technical & Educational Requirements:
- GCSE/O' level or equivalent
- Operational knowledge and customer service skills
- Driving and forklift licenses are desirable
