Warehouse Operative - Despatch Loaders
Stead House Distribution Centre

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 2pm - 10pm.
Total Hours Per Week: 40

Introduction

An exciting opportunity to be part of our successful Superdrug Supply Chain, working within one of our busy Distribution Centres as a Warehouse Operative. This vacancy is for the Savers DC, known as Stead House Distribution Centre, based in Darlington. The hours will predominantly be as stated above, but flexibility will be required across all shift patterns.

Role Purpose:

The Warehouse Operative working in the Dispatch area plays a key role in ensuring that customer (store) orders are picked and loaded in a neat, accurate, and safe manner to meet daily deadlines. A high level of numeracy is required to work out weights when loading. This role reports to the Operations Team Leader at Stead House Distribution Centre.

Typical Daily Tasks:

1. Loading and unloading cages daily
2. Asset tracking cages in and out of the DC, including cage tracking on wins
3. Achieving daily/weekly work performance standards
4. Maintaining excellent loading standards
5. Ensuring all loaded stock is clean and undamaged, reporting issues to your Line Manager
6. Keeping the work area clean and tidy, adopting a "Clean-As-You-Go" discipline, including cleaning spills, wiping surfaces, removing waste, and keeping tools and equipment safe and clean
7. Assisting the Operational Team with Health and Safety, reporting all incidents immediately

Requirements:

• Previous dispatch experience (not essential)
• Experience with barcode readers (HHT) is an advantage
• Flexible approach to duties within the warehouse
• High numeracy skills

• Good teamwork and ability to work independently
• Strong health and safety awareness, adopting the ASW, H&S Values: Always Safe at Work
