Warehouse Operative - Despatch Loaders
Stead House Distribution Centre

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 10pm - 6am.
Total Hours Per Week: 40

Introduction
An exciting opportunity to be part of our successful Superdrug Supply Chain; working within one of our busy Distribution Centres as a Warehouse Operative. This vacancy is for the Savers DC known as Stead House Distribution Centre, based in Darlington. The hours of work will be predominantly as stated above but flexibility will be required across all other shift patterns.

Role Purpose:
The Warehouse Operative working in the Dispatch area plays a key role in ensuring that the customers (stores) orders are picked & loaded in a neat, accurate, and safe manner to meet daily deadlines. You will be required to work out weights when loading, so a high level of numeracy is required. This role will report to the Operations Team Leader for Stead House Distribution Centre.

A typical day in this role includes:

1. Loading/Unloading cages on a daily basis
2. Asset tracking cages in and out of the DC + cage tracking on wins
3. Ensuring all agreed daily/weekly work performances are achieved to the required standard as a minimum
4. Always maintaining excellent loading standards
5. Ensuring that all loaded stock is clean and undamaged, reporting any issues to your Line Manager
6. Keeping the work area clean and tidy by adopting a “Clean-As-You-Go” discipline. (This may include, but not limited to: cleaning up spills, wiping down surfaces, removing waste bins, and generally keeping the work area, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and free from hazard)
7. Assisting the Operational Team in all aspects of Health and Safety and reporting all accidents/incidents/near misses immediately to your Line Manager.

What you’ll need:

1. Previous despatch experience within a warehouse environment (not essential)
2. Experience of bar code readers (HHT) would be an advantage
3. Flexible approach to performing other duties within the warehouse as requested by your Line Manager
4. High level of numeracy
5. Excellent time and attendance record
6. Good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work on your own
7. Always demonstrate and maintain a high level of health and safety awareness around the warehouse, ensuring own safety and the safety of others. Adopting the ASW, H&S Values: Always Safe at Work; think smart, think safe
