S&J Retail Ltd is a fast-growing UK online grocery retailer based in Wellingborough. We are hiring reliable Warehouse Operatives to join our team on a full-time basis, with roles for pickers and packers. The job emphasizes accuracy, speed and teamwork to ensure orders are picked and packed correctly for dispatch.

Hours include 8:00am–5:00pm, five days out of seven, at our Wellingborough warehouse. Benefits include pension, 28 days holiday, free drinks, parking and discretionary bonus

Formación

• Experience in warehouse picking or packing is an advantage but not essential.
• Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically capable of standing/walking for long periods and manual handling.

S&J Retail Ltd is a fast-growing UK online grocery retailer based in Wellingborough. We sell a wide range of global foods to customers across the UK and dispatch over 2,000 orders a day from our warehouse.

We are looking for reliable, hardworking Warehouse Operatives to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

We are hiring for both pickers and packers. We will give you the role that suits your strengths best. Some team members do both.

This is a busy, active role and the day goes quickly. Accuracy, speed and teamwork are essential, because you will make sure customer orders are picked and packed correctly and sent out on time.

Hours and contract

• Contract: 5 days out of 7


• Current rota: Monday to Saturday, so your 5 days will normally fall between Monday and Saturday


• Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm


• Location: our Wellingborough warehouse

What you will do

As a picker:

• Pick customer orders accurately from warehouse locations


• Check that each item matches the order

As a packer:

• Pack customer orders accurately and efficiently


• Label parcels ready for dispatch


• Check products and orders for accuracy before dispatch

In both roles:

• Handle a wide range of grocery and retail products


• Keep your work area clean, tidy and organised


• Support general warehouse duties when needed


• Follow health and safety procedures at all times


• Work as part of a team to meet daily order targets


• Keep high standards of quality and care with every order

What we are looking for

Warehouse, picking or packing experience is an advantage, but it is not essential. We will also consider people from other fast-paced jobs who can show they are reliable and can keep up with the pace.

• Able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment


• Comfortable with hands‑on work, including standing and walking for long periods and manual handling


• Careful and organised, with good attention to detail


• A positive team player with a strong work ethic


• Able to follow instructions and work to company standards


• Available to work 5 days out of 7 on our rota

What we offer

• £13.75 per hour during probation


• £14.25 per hour after successful completion of your 3-month probation


• Progression to Senior Operative at £15.00 per hour for reliable, high-performing team members
