Job summary

Brakes in Tamworth is hiring a Warehouse Operative and Shunter for night shifts. You’ll spend around 80% in the warehouse and the rest moving on-site vehicles, helping ensure timely deliveries and safe loading.

You’ll work in a multi-temperature warehouse with duties from picking and packing to stock replenishment. You’ll monitor fridge temperatures, report vehicle defects, and support a busy logistics operation at Brakes.

Qualifications

• Good eye for detail and accuracy.
• Teamwork and collaborative approach.
• Basic language skills and ability to do simple calculations.
• Comfortable working in a cold environment and lifting up to 25kg.

Responsibilities

A satisfying role

Our Warehouse Operators are the heart of our business. Joining a close-knit team in our multi-temperature warehouse, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety as you get involved in everything from picking and packing quality products for customers, to replenishing stock and loading onto lorries. You’ll also be supported by our friendly admin team, so that every order is processed accurately, swiftly and in line with health and food safety procedures. The shunter side of your role will keep you close to the action. You’ll be responsible for moving our 14T, 18T, and 26T multi-temperature vehicles around site, setting and monitoring fridge/freezer temperatures, and reporting any vehicle defects. You’ll play a key part in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
