Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is recruiting for Warehouse Operatives/Cage Handlers for a leading logistics company in Washington, Tyne & Wear. Roles are ongoing temporary with shifts from 5am, 3pm and 11pm, with pay £12.71 per hour rising to £16.92 depending on the shift.

You will work in a cold storage environment loading/unloading cages of food products and follow strict health and safety procedures. Excellent work/life balance is promoted, with overtime rates subject to business demand.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/food storage environments preferred.
• Able to work in cold storage and heavy lifting.
• Strong listening and instruction-following abilities.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload cages of food products from wagons.
• Follow health and safety policies at all times.
• Assist with maintenance of warehouse areas and report issues.
• Be prepared to start at 5am and work varying shifts as required.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by supervisor.

THE ROLE Due to an upturn in work we have immediate requirements for a team of Warehouse Operatives/Cage Handlers to join our client.

Duties and tasks will include:

• You must be available to work a 5am start and be flexible to work all other shifts
• You will be working in a cold room food storage environment
• You will be loading/unloading cages of various food products from wagons
• Follow company processes and procedures at all times keeping in line with current Health & Safety policies
• Assist with maintenance of all warehouse areas and report damage/accidents
• Carry out any other reasonable task requested by your warehouse manager or team leader in their absence
• THE PERSON A good attitude and high level of stamina is key for this role as well as the following specifications:
• You must be available to work a 5am start and be flexible to work all other shifts
• You need a flexible approach with the willingness to commence work at short notice as business demand often changes
• This is a highly manual dexterous role and you will demonstrate these skills
• You will have a proactive and hardworking attitude as you will hit the ground running
• You can demonstrate good listening skills and be able to follow instructions
• It would be advantageous if you have your own transport or live in the local area
