Job summary

Contract Labour Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our client, a leader in timber hardware supplies. In this full-time, permanent role, you will manage warehouse operations, maintain stock levels, and safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am–5pm with every other Saturday 8am–12pm. A valid forklift licence, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to lift up to 40kg are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential.
• Ability to work 2 Saturdays out of 4.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or trade counter environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Good level of physical fitness with regular heavy lifting up to 40kg.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
• Strong communication and a proactive attitude.
• Competitive salary £28,000–£29,000 per annum and a monthly bonus scheme.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and store incoming goods and materials.
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for delivery and collection.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
• Maintain accurate stock control with regular checks.
• Keep warehouse and yard clean and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Assist with general warehouse duties including heavy lifting.
• Support delivery drivers with loading/unloading.
• Liaise with sales and trade counter teams to ensure efficient order processing.
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures.

Contract Labour Solutions Ltdhave a wonderful opportunity available for an experienced and motivatedWarehouse Operativeto join our client - an industry leader in the supply of timber hardware products to trade professionals - on a full-time, permanent basis.

Working Hours:Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 5pm, Every other Saturday, 8am - 12pm (THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE)

The Role

As aWarehouse Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse, maintaining accurate stock levels, and supporting the smooth running of daily operations. You will also be required to operate aCounterbalance Forklift Trucksafely and efficiently. Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Receive, check, and store incoming goods and materials.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery and collection.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
• Maintain accurate stock control through regular checks and system updates.
• Ensure the warehouse and yard are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards.
• Assist with general warehouse duties, including heavy lifting and manual handling of materials.
• Support delivery drivers with loading/unloading when required.
• Liaise with sales and trade counter teams to ensure efficient order processing.
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures at all times.
• Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence(Essential).
• MUST be able to work 2 Saturdays out of 4.
• Previous experience working in a warehouse or trade counter environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (due to location and early start times).
• Good level of physical fitness – the role involves regular heavy lifting, in some cases up to 40kg
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
