A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will manage stock, assist with dispatch, and work alongside an experienced team. This is a full-time position offering 25 days off plus national holidays, with a salary of £24,762 per annum.

Warehouse Operative | Great Barr, Birmingham | Full Time | £24,762 per annum

Our client has been established since 1870. It has a long standing and widely regarded reputation in the manufacture of power transmission components. The company is based at its factory in Great Barr, Birmingham. With an annual turnover of £5m, long-serving staff of 60, and sales around the world, the business has a strong base from which it is now looking to grow and develop. This role is in the Warehouse and is perfect for a motivated person who enjoys all aspects of warehouse operations, working alongside a passionate and experienced team.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Aged over 25 with a clean driving license (for insurance requirements)
  • Comfortable with driving a work van for drop off and collections, typically local driving with some long distance work (once or twice a month)
  • Experienced in warehouse operations
  • Comfortable with physical work/lifting/handling
  • Good housekeeping skills, including keeping working areas tidy and organised
  • Experience using a Computer, MS Office & similar software
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic, open to overtime working if required
  • Drive, determination, flexibility, a sense of humour and a diligent approach
  • Must embrace change and be willing to adopt new skills to support all areas of the business

What will your role look like?

  • Unloading, inspecting, and booking in stock to the warehouse
  • Using picking software and paperwork to pick items from the warehouse, ready for dispatch
  • Supporting the dispatch of goods to the customers, final packing and boxing, moving to the dispatch point, ready for the customer or the courier
  • Assisting with heavy lifting and materials handling as necessary
  • Reporting to the Warehouse Manager
  • Working alongside an experienced operations team in the warehouse
