PURPOSE OF JOB:

To execute a wide variety of warehouse & loading bay activities including shipping, receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. To assist with loading and unloading vehicles on site, to move, shrink-wrap, strap, double stack pallets or cages out of any operation department. To be aware of, and follow, Warehouse safety procedures. To work as part of the Warehouse/Transport team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•To gain a strong knowledge of the Warehouse processes

•To be able to operate and have in date licenses for a range of forklift vehicles on site, including counterbalance, clamp, VNA, PPT

•To accept, load, unload and sign for collections and deliveries following a goods into stock process

•To take responsibility for the end of day loading of mail onto postal artic’s vehicles following a loading of mail process

•To keep an operation in a functional state by moving, wrapping, strapping, stacking pallets & cages into designated areas

•To perform daily VNA, FLT, Clamp, PPT Truck Safety Checks and record/file these on the Daily Safety Checklist as required

•Report any MHE defects immediately to the Warehouse and Transport Manager or Supervisor

•To produce GRN for raw materials and store in the designated area

•To bay and locate goods which have been delivered in an allocated bay in the Warehouse following a Goods into stock process

•To perform and record a monthly racking inspection

•To record incoming and outgoing mail consumables onto the spreadsheets and pass to the Postage Team

•Perform as required scheduled or requested stock checks

•Pick stock and deliver as requested/required by departments to maintain a relevant stock level for production purposes

•To actively run stock consolidation or stock destruction exercise to maintain an organised warehouse

•To help be responsible for the safekeeping of warehouse vehicles and property, including opening and closing Warehouse

•To develop productive working relationships with colleagues.

•Willing to undertake any qualifications to suit business and departmental demands

•To ensure that you have a full understanding of the requirements of each job.

•To undertake any other support task as requested by the Warehouse & Transport Manager or Supervisor

•Good time keeping and attendance.

•Maintain a tidy and clean work area ensuring the Warehouse, loading bay and yard area is kept in a safe, clean and in an orderly manner.

•Understand and adhere to the company policies and procedures with particular emphasis on quality and health and safety.

•To be aware of and notify the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor of any problems or faults with the factory building and infrastructure.

•To be willing and able to work overtime at relatively short notice and to move to any of the other shifts to cover for holidays and sickness as and when required.

•Have a required manual handling assessment in date

•And any other reasonable management request
