Job description

Warehouse Operative
  • Location: Kidlington
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Salary: GBP12.21 per hour (approx. GBP26,000 per annum, depending on experience)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30 mins lunch), plus 1 in 3 Saturdays for 4 hours (6-10, 7-11, or 8-12)
  • Contract Hours: 41.33 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective control of both inbound and outbound warehouse parts stock, supporting the provision of excellent service to our customers.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Inbound Stock Management:

    • Verify all incoming stock deliveries against pack notes and promptly report any discrepancies.
    • Inspect incoming parts orders for damages and record any issues.
    • Accurately place inbound parts into their correct locations, ensuring all parts are properly labelled.
  • Outbound Stock Management:

    • Pick customer orders accurately and swiftly to prepare for dispatch.
    • Ensure that customer orders are placed in the correct delivery bay and guard against unauthorised removal of stock.
    • Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) stock control management processes.
  • Customer Service:

    • Provide high levels of customer service by accurately picking parts and assembling them for customer delivery runs.
    • Assist in resolving customer issues and ensure trade customers are handled appropriately when they visit.
  • Systems and Process Compliance:

    • Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintain a clean and tidy work environment, and comply with established business processes.
    • Utilise and update all systems effectively to carry out allotted tasks and complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a warehouse operative role or similar.
  • Strong understanding of stock management processes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and manual handling practices.
