Job summary

James Latham, a leading UK timber and panel distributor, is hiring a Warehouse Operative for our Fareham site. The role is secure, Monday–Friday, with a rotating shift pattern and no weekend work, offering a supportive team and clear progression opportunities.

You will pick orders, receive deliveries, and load lorries, while following safety practices. Full training is provided, and on-site parking is free. Staff development and internal promotions are emphasised.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience required.
• Valid Combilift or Counterbalance licence preferred.
• Ability to perform manual handling; mechanical aids available.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders accurately and efficiently.
• Receive deliveries and unload goods.
• Load lorries while protecting products and following safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to company policies.

Location:

Rotating Shift Pattern: 5:00am-2:00pm and 1:00pm-10:00pm

This role involves picking orders, receiving deliveries and loading lorries whilst taking care to look after products and follow safety practices.

Our ideal warehouse operative has:

• Previous warehouse experience
• A valid Combilift or Counterbalance licence
• The ability to carry out manual handling when picking orders, with mechanical equipment available to assist where possible.
• Timber experience is a bonus!

Our Warehouse Operatives need to be on‑site five days a week, so please make sure you’re within a reasonable commuting distance to our depot, before applying.
