Job summary

Kiltane in Edinburgh is seeking a Warehouse Operative to help maintain a safe, well‑organised warehouse and support our busy seasonal operations across the summer peak.

You will work with a dedicated team to pick, pack and dispatch goods, perform stock checks and barcoding, and assist with deliveries to stores. A clean driving licence is advantageous; strong numeracy, literacy and a proactive, flexible approach are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support e‑commerce pick, pack and dispatch.
• Accurately pick located items for dispatch.
• Quality check and pack items correctly.
• Drive the company van if you hold a clean license.
• Deliver and reload stock to stores.
• Barcode and record stock to keep stock control accurate.
• Maintain health and safety standards in the warehouse.
• Check deliveries and report discrepancies.
• Complete all tasks and duties in a timely manner.

About the job

As a Warehouse Operative, you will help maintain a safe and well‑organised warehouse. Working as part of a team, you will ensure goods are moved safely and efficiently between the warehouse and the shop floor, maintaining high standards of productivity and safety at all times.

In the summertime, this is an extremely busy location meaning our team members must be forward thinking and proactive. As a seasonal business, our opening hours are subject to change, meaning flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support e-commerce pick, pack and dispatch.
• Accurately picking located items from stock in preparation for dispatch to stores and customers.
• Quality checking items and ensuring everything is packed correctly
• Driving the company van if you hold a clean license
• Delivering and reloading required stock to the stores
• Bar coding and recording stock correctly to ensure the accuracy of our stock control system
• Maintain health and safety standards within the warehouse
• Check all deliveries and inform supervisor or management of any discrepancies
• Complete all tasks and general warehouse duties in a timely manner

Skills and Abilities

• Working in a busy warehouse environment picking & packing orders to a timed schedule
• Have sound numeracy, literacy, computing and self‑organisational skills
• Be self‑motivated & can work within a fast‑paced environment
• Have plenty of stamina and enthusiasm
• Have a polite, professional, and helpful manner

• Permanent employment (subject to 3 months’ probation period)
• 27 days annual leave and 2 public holidays (25 December & 1 January)
