Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Operative in Northampton‑Upton to support the daily flow of operations by receiving, storing and dispatching goods. You will work across warehouse areas using handheld scanners and follow Health & Safety regulations.

Job description

As a Warehouse Operative in Upton and Northampton, you will support the smooth daily running of operations by accurately receiving, distributing, and picking goods for dispatch. You will work efficiently and systematically across all warehouse areas, using four key systems while strictly following Health & Safety regulations.

Location: Northampton – Upton.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:30, Friday 07:30–12:30 (early finish).
Pay rate: £12.71 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and distribute goods accurately.
• Pick and pack customer orders using handheld barcode scanners.
• Load completed orders onto courier vehicles by hand, counterbalance, or reach truck.
• Conduct regular stock checks and maintain organised inventory locations.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free working environment and comply with all H&S protocols.
• Collaborate with the export/import, stores, repair, and overseas HQ logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Maintain workflow efficiency, managing daily tasks to meet KPIs and SLAs, particularly during the shorter Friday shift.
• Participate in training and development sessions to build skills and support career growth.

Candidate Requirements

• In‑date accredited counterbalance licence (highly advantageous, not essential).
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
• Hands‑on and proactive approach, willing to use forklifts or assist with manual sorting and packing as needed.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team and overseas colleagues.
• Computer literacy: comfortable with hand‑held scanners and navigating warehouse management systems.
• Based in or within a reliable commuting distance of Northampton.
