The role
As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role is a critical resource supporting all warehouse duties.

Day-to-day, you’ll work within the site warehouse environment and undertake the Receipt, Storage and Issuing functions of the logistics Supply-chain in support of material requirements of Babcock Defence Support Group (DSG) operations. You'll also:

  • Action supplier deliveries within goods - inward department and transaction through inbound receipting process
  • Material handling equipment (MHE) operation to assist and support warehouse tasks where required.
  • Complete regular housekeeping as part of warehouse operative role
  • Maintenance of stock integrity through product compliance including checking of certificate of conformity (CofC), shelf life to ensure through-process control
  • Action Outbound picking activity in response to Babcock customer demands, ensuring accuracy, correct condition, and sufficient packaging for onward distribution

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington.

Essential experience of the Warehouse Operative:

  • Basic level of IT skills – IT Literate (Microsoft excel)
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications for the Warehouse Operative:
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. However, a forklift licence is desirable.
