Job summary

Workchain seeks a Warehouse Operative in Bedford to join a busy operation. You will handle a variety of products, perform picking, packing, loading and unloading, and maintain safe, efficient warehouse routines.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 16:30–00:30, with a Monday to Friday pattern. The role is long-term, offering regular weekday shifts and opportunities to grow within an established team in Bedford.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in picking or packing is advantageous.
• Comfortable with manual handling and physical work.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work well as part of a team.

The RoleWorkchain are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and well-established operation in Bedford. This is a varied warehouse role involving the handling of different products and materials, with responsibilities across picking, packing, loading and unloading. The position will involve some physical work, so candidates should be comfortable being on their feet and carrying out manual handling throughout the shift. This is a long-term opportunity for a reliable and hardworking candidate looking for consistent Monday-to-Friday work.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking products accurately from warehouse locations
• Packing goods ready for dispatch
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Moving stock around the warehouse
• Checking products and quantities against orders
• Preparing goods for delivery
• Handling a variety of different products
• Carrying out manual handling and some heavier lifting
• Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised
• Following health and safety procedures
• Working as part of a team to meet daily targets

Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential
• Picking and packing experience would be advantageous
