Job summary

Staffline is helping a distribution centre in Basildon recruit Warehouse Operatives. You will work a full-time, 40-hour week with rotating 8-hour shifts (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm) across 5 days in 7, with paid overtime when applicable. Training is provided and on-site support is available.

The role involves voice-guided picking, stacking in cages, and safe movement of goods; physical fitness is important due to lifting tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse is desirable but not essential.
• Physically fit and able to handle items of various weights and sizes.
• Full training provided on-site.
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate voice-directed headset to follow step-by-step picking instructions.
• Stack picked products securely in mobile cages with care.
• Safely drive a Low Level Order Picker (LLOP) to move cages around the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and adhere to safety procedures.

An opportunity to join our client's distribution centre in Basildon as a Warehouse Operative - an extensive warehouse servicing London, the Midlands and the whole of the South of England with products covering technology, home & garden, toys, appliances and health & beauty.

With business increasing, this monumental industry name is now looking for more Warehouse Operatives to join the fantastic team at this award-winning venue.

The rate of pay is

£15.08 per hour.

Overtime is available and is paid at

£18.25 per hour.

This is a full-time position,

40 hours per week, working rotating 8-hour shifts, 5 days out of 7. The hours of work are:

• 6am to 2pm
• 2pm to 10pm

You will work both types of shift on a weekly rotating basis.

The hours are 40 hours per week post 12 weeks pre 12 weeks there is a 30 min unpaid break = 37.5 hours per week

Your Time at Work

As a Warehouse Operative your duties will include:

• Using a voiceâ€‑directed headset system that provides clear, stepâ€‑byâ€‑step instructions for selecting the correct products that make up an order
• Stack picked products securely in a mobile cage, ensuring stability and accuracy before they are sent to the customer
• Driving a Low Level Order Picker (LLOP) safely and efficiently to transport these cages and move around to different locations within the warehouse (you will receive full training)
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment to support safe and efficient operations

Applicants will be physically fit and able to handle items of various weights and sizes, including occasional heavy lifting as part of the picking and stacking process.
