Warehouse Operations Manager

Novus Recruitment are working with a highly successful FMCG manufacturing client on a multisite Warehouse Logistics Manager role that will attract logistics candidates who are keen to develop the warehouse facility incorporating people and process in that change journey. The business has invested in the facility and is looking to further develop people and process across the operation. Manufacturing branded and own label products and supplying multiple retailers, this is a busy site with constantly changing priorities. This is an opportunity to really drive change within the warehouse facilities.

The other elements of the role are:

  • Leading the warehouse, responsible for all day-to-day activities and safety of the despatch and good in facilities.
  • Identifying and implementing the correct KPI measures for the Warehouse facility to ensure the team and department operate to the highest standards.
  • Drive a continuous improvement agenda to constantly improve/monitor customer service levels.
  • Communication across Operation functions including Production, Planning and Technical.
  • Be commercially aware, employing cost saving initiatives where possible.
  • Be a driver of change, able to engage and lead teams, giving the correct accountability and responsibility.
  • Continually setting out best practice in the warehouse and developing the shift managers and the warehouse teams to embrace good practice.
  • Deliver improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain working closely with Retailer customers.

In terms of background the ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong warehouse/inventory management background ideally in an FMCG or Logistics environment.
  • Examples of developing and driving improvements and delivering change in fast paced environments.
  • Previous success of developing teams and individuals within the warehouse function.
  • Experience of working with Warehouse KPIs to measure success on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Significant experience at managerial level in a pick and pack and stock control environment.
  • Able to set standards and develop a positive culture around accountability and measurability.
