Job Description:

Reporting to the Head of UK & IRE Distribution, you will be responsible for leading and managing the safe and efficient operation and continual development of the Life Science UK Distribution Warehouse in Gillingham, Dorset. In this role, you will play an essential part in our leadership team, overseeing a team of approximately 60 members. The ability to demonstrate a high level of knowledge & experience with successful progression within a Health and Safety, Quality & Service driven environment will be essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Enable & maintain a high level of quality & safety culture across the warehouse by identifying and coordinating staff training requirements.
  2. Work closely with the OpEx (Operational Excellence) manager to identify and implement changes to improve efficiency & productivity.
  3. Collaborate with the Operational Excellence Project Manager to identify & implement changes to drive improvement in operational efficiency & productivity.
  4. Collaborate with all other departments to ensure service performance is aligned with and above customer expectations.
  5. Responsible for on-target delivery of all service performance KPIs & customer expectations.
  6. Provide high levels of proactive management & leadership to the warehouse team.
  7. Demonstrate proactive engagement and collaboration with other key personnel across the organization, locally & globally.

  1. Proven experience in Warehouse Leadership with successful performance & progression within a complex busy distribution facility.

  5. Demonstrated success in the implementation of process automation and digitalization of manual processes.

  9. Knowledge and hands-on experience of Continuous Improvement and Lean 6 Sigma methodology.

Desired/advantageous:
  1. Experience with Dangerous Goods or other chemical products.
  2. IATA, IMO, ADR qualification.
  3. Logistics / Distribution / Supply Chain qualification.
  4. Experience working in a global matrix organization.
  5. 6 Sigma belt.
