Our client is a leading provider of power products, with an exclusive customer base. We are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Warehouse professional as they look to recruit a Warehouse Manager at their 100,000 sq.ft state of the art facility in Newport, Gwent.

Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, outbound logistics and the delivery of third-party logistics (3PL) services to the customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and implementation of warehouse strategies to optimise site performance, efficiency, service levels and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership across all operational areas: goods-in, inventory, picking, packing and shipping.
  • Lead, coach and support two Direct Reports and their teams (30FTEs) to deliver against performance objectives.
  • Oversee workforce planning, training, performance management and ongoing employee development.
  • Manage all aspects of daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, stock control, order fulfilment, returns and shipping.
  • Ensure optimal use of space and mechanical handling equipment, with a focus on productivity, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory management practices (cycle counts, stock reconciliation, rotation) to ensure stock accuracy and minimal loss.
  • Define, track and report on KPIs relating to productivity, safety, customer service and cost efficiency.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with HR to plan staffing requirements in line with forecasted growth and business needs.
  • Work closely with logistics, procurement, sales and customer service teams to ensure operational alignment and service excellence.
  • Support the ongoing delivery and development of our 3PL offering and maintain strong working relationships with logistics partners.

The Ideal Person for the Warehouse Manager role:

  • Substantial experience in a senior warehouse management role, ideally within a high-volume, fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and delivering operational success.
  • Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) environments and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification is preferred.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in performance reporting and operational KPIs.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Commercially astute, strategic thinker, and adept at managing change and operational complexity.
