Overview

Version 2 are the UK's lighting rental specialists for the television, broadcast and event industry. Working alongside some of the industry’s most prominent Lighting Designers, Version 2 services a broad range of productions, including Strictly Come Dancing, Britain’s Got Talent and The Jonathan Ross Show.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our team based in Ashampstead Common, Reading as Warehouse Manager.

Role Summary

You must be extremely organised, self-motivated, meticulous in your work and able to operate using your own initiative. You must have a ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent problem-solving skills and complete discretion where required.

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. Due to the nature of the broadcast and events industry there may be occasional requirements for out-of-hours support and overtime.

The position will be varied and will include the following:

Job Duties

General

  • You will be part of the Management Team, as such your input will be valued in regards to all aspects of the company’s operations.

Warehouse / Operations

  • Management of all warehouse staff within the operations department. To plan workloads and schedules and to book temporary staff to cover shortfalls.
  • Oversee equipment preparation procedures, supervising both permanent and temporary staff prepping, cleaning, scanning, loading, unloading of the returning equipment.
  • Equipment coordination from an operational viewpoint to ensure equipment is ready and 'on bay' on time for productions and customer collections. To ensure equipment is accurately scanned both on and off jobs.
  • To oversee the ongoing maintenance and service of rental assets. Including advising when items need to be sent out for service with an external repair vendor.
  • To hold weekly 'Op’s Meeting' meetings with the operations team to discuss and plan weekly workloads.
  • To supervise and plan 'truck packs', including both the loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • To ensure the operations team keeps the warehouse in a safe and tidy operational condition, and adhere to the company’s health and safety policy.
  • To complete end of job procedures, including producing missing & damage reports. Providing information to the Rental Team in a timely manner.
  • To give input to the General Manager on the design and involvement of warehouse layout, equipment preparations storage systems at the company’s headquarters.

  • Ultra organised, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good communicator able to deal confidently with staff, suppliers and customers alike.
  • Good time management skills, able to manage multiple tasks and deliver within set timescales.
  • Excellent initiative, able to work independently.
  • A team player, enthused to be part of a growing team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, with basic knowledge of a web-based accounting platforms and inventory management systems advantageous but not essential.
