The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including managing and working with all departments such as receiving, replenishment, inventory, and load crew.
Description of Physical Tasks:
Place product on hand truck or dolly (approximately 20 to 50 lbs per case). Push/pull hand truck to machine and load appropriate products. Climb in and out of vehicles and use proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise all warehouse employees to ensure efficient performance of duties.
- Take all possible steps to prevent product loss through pilferage, damage, or aging.
- Ensure all warehouse employees follow company policies and procedures.
- Pay close attention to product expiration dates and load the oldest product first.
- Check and prevent discrepancies in daily inventory.
- Ensure delivery drivers are counted out correctly and leave with the proper product.
- Check-in drivers upon return, including counting returned products, empties, pallets, and carts.
- Manage swaps, damage, breakage, and returns.
- Ensure reworked products meet brewery standards and are returned to stock before truck loading.
- Count actual cases received against the bill of lading.
- Rotate stock to ensure the oldest products are loaded first.
- Forward all relevant paperwork to the office promptly.
- Record product code dates on bill of lading(s).
- Tag all rows with proper code date information.
- Keep delivery trucks clean and free of damage.
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse, grounds, and yard areas.
- Supervise unloading/loading of carriers and bulk trucks.
- Investigate and report accidents during shifts.
- Return cooperage, empties, and pallets to breweries with proper paperwork.
- Work closely with Operations and Human Resources managers on payroll and labor laws.
- Maintain clear communication with owners, managers, employees, vendors, and retailers.
- Dress professionally and adhere to company policies.
- Follow all safety, legal, and company guidelines in activities.
- Adapt to new responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Maintain forklift certification and OSHA standards.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
