Job summary

Musgrave Group Plc invites applications for a Warehouse Line Manager to lead daily warehouse operations across a rotating shift pattern (AM/PM/Night). You will recruit, onboard and develop staff, ensure WMS compliance, manage performance and KPIs, and build strong internal and union relationships while driving continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes health and safety, cost control, and delivering quality service to stores within a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
• Experience of managing a large team in a fast moving warehouse operation.

Please note this role involves a rotating shift pattern:

5 out of 7 days work, shifts rotating across AM; PM and Nightshift when required

Role Purpose:

To plan, direct and coordinate the smooth efficient running of theday to daywarehouse operational activities

To lead the Warehouse team members by giving direction and monitoring performance to ensure departmentoperatesefficiently and effectively providing a quality service to stores

Whatyou`llbe doing:

Warehouse Operations

• Monthly huddles with all team members to update on company news,initiativesand gaincolleaguesfeedback
• Assistin the recruitment, onboarding, development of new colleagues asrequired
• Ensure all team members are trained and assessed for competency on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure compliance against WMS processes
• Complete performance reviews for all team members and offer support and guidance on future areas for development.
• Nurture and develop a healthy relationship with the Trade union.
• Be first line of contact for all people management, including, absence, disciplinary and grievance issues as they arise.
• Organise, plan, and manage theday to daywarehouse operation effectively in line with daily and weekly plans, ensuring targets are met
• Maintainaccurateand up to date administration records.
• Develop strong internal and external customer relationships to ensure issues are resolved.
• Support Management in the strategic development plan for the warehouse function.
• Identifyoperational issues and report to senior management.
• Lead on projects as and when directed
• Manage end to end processes are completed for all accidents and incidents on I-Auditor, complete investigations and cascade the information to higher management as directed
• Conduct Investigations & Disciplinary interviews/process in line with company policy

• Encourage 2-way feedback and ideas aimed at improving work practices and involve warehouse and operational support colleagues in solutions to operational problems.

• To proactively motivate the warehouse team members to achieve planned targets and deadlines by providing guidance and encouragement.
• Demonstrate the leadership skills and values holding self and other accountable for meeting and exceedingobjectivesand maximise the potential of team members to encourage and sponsor talent to ensure succession
• Communicate clearly and positively to engage all colleagues to ensure they understand their role in delivering the brand (businessobjectives)
• Set team objectives & targets andmonitor& feedback on performance on an ongoing basis.

Customer Service

• Demonstrate and promote a “right first time” mindset and cascade this to team members
• Liaising with customer representatives to promote continued successful partnership and the maintenance of good will towards the company
• Ensuring excellent levels of service and quality to customers
• Monitoring and investigation of claims and implementation of appropriate plans to reduce instances of customer complaints and claims.
• Ensuring service continuity at peak seasonal times
• Balance the requirement of rekeys to increase customer availability with operational effectiveness

Whatwe`relooking for:

Experience, skills and education:

• Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft suite
• Experience of managing a large team in a fast moving customer orientated warehouse operation.
• Experience of working in a unionised environment
• Working experience and knowledge of compilation and presentation of KPIs to senior level.
• Working experience of review, control and keeping within a set budget
• High levelof computer literacy and exposure to WMS
• Experience of managing in a fast-paced retail/FMCG warehousing environment
• Excellent communication, people management and customer service skills.
• Good organizational, administration and problem-solving skills in a fast-moving environment.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution operations including specific processes such as H&S and HACCP etc.
• Have leadership qualities with a keen eye on lean management
• A willingness to support the business by living the Musgrave values
• Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent passes at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English.
• Warehouse layout/design
• Demonstrable experience in developing relationships with TradeUnionsExposureto LEAN/CImethodology
• Analytical experience in interpreting data presented.
• Strong degree of PC literacy with an emphasis on accuracy and an extensive knowledge of spreadsheets/databases
