Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Warehouse & Inspection Operative in Chesterfield to support stock control, packing and dispatch activities. You will handle orders, use internal systems and couriers to produce despatch paperwork, and help ensure accurate stock records and safe handling.

In this permanent role you will contribute to efficient warehouse operations, perform quality checks, assist with cycle counts, and maintain tidy storage areas while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatch/packing and goods in warehouse.
• Familiar with warehouse and shipping systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to safely perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack and verify orders for accuracy in parts, quantities and labels.
• Use internal systems and courier software to print and complete despatch paperwork.
• Book courier collections and enter shipping details for customs clearance.
• Assist with internal orders and complete basic warehouse paperwork.
• Maintain stock records, including booking in/out and relocating stock efficiently.
• Organise stock in designated locations to keep the warehouse tidy.
• Participate in cycle counts, stocktakes and report discrepancies.
• Raise purchase requisitions/orders and communicate stock issues.
• Safely unload deliveries and verify goods against delivery notes.
• Book goods into stock, label correctly and ensure proper storage.
• Report damaged/missing/incorrect items and manage returns.
• Conduct basic visual quality checks and measurements against specs.
• Use measuring equipment (training provided) to ensure quality standards.
• Label and quarantine non-conforming items and report issues promptly.

Location: Chesterfield, S41
Hours: Compressed Week: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 3:55 PM (37 hours)
Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and verify orders to ensure accuracy in parts, quantities, and labels.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous warehouse experience in dispatch/packing and/or goods in, ideally within a manufacturing organisation
• Comfortable using warehouse and shipping systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to safely complete manual handling tasks.
