Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking 3 proactive and reliable Warehouse Goods-In Operatives, to join our dedicated team, at our Dartford Operations hub (relocating to Aylesford December 2025) and our Sheffield hub. In these pivotal roles you'll work primarily in the yard area, with a key focus on managing the processing of returned goods and ensuring they are cleaned and prepared for re-use or dispatch.

As a key member of the warehouse team you'll ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect and record incoming goods against delivery documentation for accuracy, quality and tracking.
  • Assess, sort and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the Warehouse Team Leader
  • Log all received items into the inventory management system promptly
  • Clean returned goods and equipment using appropriate tools and cleaning agents
  • Store goods in designated locations (yard or warehouse), areas ensuring proper handling and security
  • Operate forklifts or other yard machinery (if certified), ensuring safe handling of materials
  • Maintain a clean and organised goods-in area, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other warehouse operatives to support overall warehouse operations
  • Carry out other warehouse duties as required to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Liaise with internal teams such as Quality Control, Repairs, and Inventory to coordinate the flow of goods
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and company policies
  • Identify and report any safety or maintenance issues in the yard or equipment
  • Support general yard duties, including loading/unloading vehicles and assisting with deliveries as required


Requirements

  • Prior experience in a goods-in or warehouse role. (E)
  • Forklift truck certification is beneficial, but training can be provided. (D)
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous organisational skills. (E)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. (E)
  • Good communication skills. (E)
  • A basic understanding of inventory management systems is an advantage. (D)
