Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily checks of handling equipment and FLTs, recording any defects.

  • Load distribution vehicles safely, highlighting any damages.
  • Assist with inventory counting as directed.

Job description

Job Title: Warehouse/FLT Operative

Location: Warrington (WA5)

Salary: £12.80 p/hr

Shifts: Monday- Friday 08:00- 17:00hrs

Contract: Temp - Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse/FLT Operative for our client who is a well‑established supplier of cable trunking and lighting systems to various industries within the UK and Europe. You would be assisting in setting up a brand‑new warehouse unit and working within a small team to ensure customer orders are fulfilled and prepared in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the daily checks of all handling equipment and FLT's, including ladders are checked daily, recorded on the relevant sheets and defect reported.
  • Deal with inbound vehicles following correct company procedure.
  • Safe handling, storage and repacking of all products, where necessary, in line with stock locations, rotation and company policies.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy with picking and packing orders.
  • Load distribution vehicles in a safe, presentable manner highlighting any damages or errors prior to completion.
  • Assist with inventory counting where necessary and as directed by Warehouse Management.
  • Adhere to all health and safety processes and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Maintain a high standard with housekeeping assisting to create a clean, organised and safe work area.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Warehouse is essential.
  • Must have a valid in date FLT counterbalance licence (RTITB accredited).
  • Any First Aid/Fire Marshall certifications would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Additional Information

As this is a new warehouse with collection facility, you would be required to attend the client's main site in Dudley for 2 weeks of training (Mon‑Fri) and to learn about the products. Hotel accommodation would be provided, and an allowance for an evening meal during this time.
