Job description

Warehouse First Line Manager - Stowmarket, Suffolk

Shifts: 4 days on / 2 days off (rotating 06:00-14:30 & 14:30-23:00)

Annual Working Days: 244 (vs traditional 260)

Salary: £38k per year increasing to £39k after 3 months, based on experience + benefits package worth up to £1,740/year

We are currently seeking two experienced Warehouse First Line Managers to help shape the future of operations at this flagship site.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a team of approximately 50 warehouse operatives
  • Overseeing operations across inbound, stock put-away, picking, dispatch, and inventory
  • Supporting continuous process improvement while prioritising Health & Safety
  • Collaborating with Inventory, H&S, Planning, and HR teams
  • Driving KPI achievement and managing shift efficiencies
  • Standing in for the Shift Manager when required, including handovers
  • Engaging and motivating staff through briefings and clear performance goals
  • Contributing to the setup of new policies, SSOWs, SOPs, and local procedures

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience managing teams in warehouse, processing, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) a plus
  • Confident in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • A strong communicator and natural leader who thrives on team engagement
  • Proactive approach to implementing structure and supporting operational excellence
