We have an exciting opportunity to join our Supply Chain as a Warehouse First Line Manager based at our Lees site, part of Finsbury Food Group. Lees of Scotland has been manufacturing confectionery and meringues since 1931, operating from our modern 80,000-square-foot factory in Coatbridge, just outside Glasgow. Today, Lees is a household name in Scotland, producing iconic products like snowballs, teacakes, and meringues, supplied to major retailers across the UK.

This is what you’ll actually do!
The Warehouse First Line Manager (FLM) will provide leadership for the Warehouse Operatives team members to achieve operational key performance indicators (KPIs) on an hourly and shift basis. You will be accountable for the daily operations of your designated area, ensuring accurate and timely supply of materials and finished products in a safe and organized working environment.
In this role, you will take ownership of your designated area, driving results against KPIs aligned with company objectives. You will manage health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and conducting accident and risk assessments. Quality standards will be upheld by managing deviations and enforcing food safety protocols. Additionally, you will ensure a seamless supply of materials to operations to meet production schedules and deliver on time. A focus on cost optimization will be essential, including waste reduction, efficient labour utilization, and productivity improvements. Any critical issues will be escalated to the Warehouse Manager as needed, and you will maintain accurate reporting and adherence to operational processes.
As a team leader, you will inspire your team to achieve hourly and shift KPIs, addressing variances promptly through robust management systems. You will promote fairness and enforce company policies, while fostering a culture of teamwork and inclusion. Effective communication will be key to aligning objectives and enhancing employee engagement. You will also manage attendance processes, conduct return-to-work interviews, and maintain workplace discipline in a positive and professional environment.
Developing talent within your team will be a crucial part of this role. You will build your team’s skills through tailored training and maintain skills matrices to address gaps. Coaching and development opportunities will help you identify and nurture high-potential team members for succession planning.
