Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivational Warehouse First Line Manager to join our team in Goresbrook on a full-time permanent basis!

As the Warehouse First Line Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in overseeing operations to ensure service levels are achieved safely and efficiently. You will be a vital link in ensuring customer requirements are met consistently.

We work with some of the largest well-known brands at this site, so the focus on customer needs and satisfaction is key in this role.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm/6pm-6am rotating.

Salary: £37,000 per annum.

Key Duties of a Warehouse First Line Manager:
  • Act as the key point of contact in communication with the administration, stock, and management teams to resolve problems or issues within the warehouse.
  • Prepare and complete shift handover documents fully and distribute data captured on tracking documents for the next shift to ensure seamless operational transition.
  • Manage the performance of operatives using warehouse management system tools.
  • Manage your team and ensure compliance with people processes and policies.
  • Create training and resource plans with the support team to ensure relevant skills are available on your shift to meet capability requirements.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met, including key control, key logs, radio logs, scanner logs, and MHE pre-operation checks.
  • Complete all Safe & Legal checks and ensure they are signed off with a monthly WM check.
  • Assist with weekly customer updates as required.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience within a FLM or senior warehouse operative role, ideally within a fast-paced logistics/3PL environment.
  • Working knowledge of operational and people management.
  • Strong computer skills with high attention to detail; knowledge of WMS systems and SAP is an advantage.
  • Ability to motivate and empower others, providing staff development opportunities and coaching.
  • Adaptable, proactive communication, and consultation skills.
  • Systematic, methodical approach to achieve project goals.
